On the occasion of World Cancer Day, JITO Ladies Wing, Kolkata members vowed to fight and support the prevention of cancer in our society by organizing multiple campaigns on cancer treatment & cancer prevention. The first event was held on 3rd Feb, where the members visited the hospital and donated Rs 21,000 for the welfare of the patients. On 4th and 5th February the members distributed 1000 tea glasses to different street vendors as well as to different fruits & Vegetable sellers at 5 different locations market. JITO Youth Wing also assisted with great enthusiasm. The members inculcated the vendors about the dangers from drinking hot tea from plastic cups and helped them understand about the health hazards that comes with it. The campaign was extremely successful. The members helped the vendors to get rid of the hazardous plastic cups and presented them a new reusable glasses.
